Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica has entered into several agreements with Generaciones Especiales I, S.L., a company belonging to NEO Energía, for the supply of a total of 35 wind turbines having a total output of 35 MW for various wind farms.
The first of these agreements includes the supply of 19 Gamesa G52-850 kW wind turbines for the Pumar Extension and Curiscao wind farms in the province of Asturias. The agreement sets forth the supply, installation and start-up of the wind turbines, along with a two-year guaranty.
The second agreement involves the installation of a total power output of 19 MW and includes the supply of eleven Gamesa G58-850 kW wind turbines and five Gamesa G90-2.0 MW wind turbines, which will be respectively installed in the Calanhel and Beaurevour wind farms located in the north of France.
Winning these new orders has reinforced Gamesa's relationship with Neo Energía, a company belonging to the world’s fourth largest wind energy operator, while at the same time strengthening the Spanish company’s position in two strategic European markets.
From an environmental viewpoint, the wind turbine generators Gamesa will supply to the above-mentioned wind farms will contribute towards generating energy supplies that are respectful to the environment by avoiding the emission of pollutants to the atmosphere. More specifically, the annual production of these installations’ 35.5 MW will replace 7,633 tons of petroleum equivalent (TPE) per year and avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 53,250 tons of CO2 a year.
