Gamesa is included in Ethibel Sustainability Index. Launched in 2002, this index comprises the leading companies in sustainability. The French group Vigeo is responsible of companies’ sustainable development and corporate responsibility assessment, evaluating aspects such as environment, human resources, human rights, corporate governance and community involvement.
In the seventh edition of MERCO (Monitor Español de Reputación Corporativa – Spanish Monitor in Corporate Reputation) published in March 2007, Gamesa goes up 10 positions to place number 26. MERCO is the ranking of the 100 companies with best reputation, and more than 1,500 people take part on it elaboration (managers, financial analysts, NGOs, trade unions, consumer associations and leading advocates). In the sector ranking, Gamesa is placed in the second position within its activity sector companies (Technology).

In January 2007, the Observatorio de la Responsabilidad Social de las Empresas, created by UGT in order to monitor and analyze Spanish companies’ progress on responsible strategies, policies and practices, published its 2006 study on ‘Responsibility: Culture, Policies and Practices of IBEX-35 companies’. In this study, Gamesa was ranked in fifth place overall with ‘satisfactory’ rating.

In March 2007, the Observatorio de la RSC (OBRSC), an association composed of thirteen organizations representative of civil society, including NGOs, trade unions and consumer associations, presented its third study ‘Corporate Social Responsibility in Annual Reports of IBEX-35 companies’, for the year 2005. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of information provided on aspects of CSR in documents and reports of public record by the companies that comprise the IBEX-35. As shown in the study, Gamesa is placed between the five companies with best overall results, rising four positions regarding previous study. Gamesa has obtained an overall score of 1.72, quite higher than IBEX average score (1.09).
