Gamesa 2.0-2.5 MW

The track record built up coupled with deep knowledge of current market demands has enabled Gamesa to continue to add the finest technology developments to its 2.0 MW platform, bringing significant innovation in terms of design, product and performance.

The key characteristics of the Gamesa 2.0 MW platform are its robustness, stellar reliability and suitability for all kinds of sites and wind conditions, from the most challenging locations to low and medium wind speed sites. Thanks to this performance, the platform's installed capacity stands at over 15,000 MW worldwide, while average fleet availability is running at over 98%.

In the natural course of Gamesa's technological development, the company has developed the new G114-2.5 MW wind turbine. This turbine comes with a longer blade for medium wind speed sites and a higher nominal capacity of 2.5 MW with a view to enhancing the cost of energy in the 2.0 - 3.0 MW segment. The new turbine will also produce more energy at a lower investment per MW installed and at a lower maintenance cost per MWh produced.

The G114-2.5 MW will complement and exist side by side the Class II G97-2.0 MW, as well as the rest of Gamesa's 2.0 MW product range, the market benchmark thanks to its excellent capacity performance and the high returns offered.

Based on the same technological concepts as the Gamesa 2.0 MW platform, the new turbine comes with a new 2.5 MW generator/transformer but shares many of its systems with the G114-2.0 MW, enabling the company to streamline costs.

Having rounded out its product range, Gamesa's 2.0-2.5 MW platform is the most versatile on the market: five different blade options (G80/G90-2.0 MW class I, G97-2.0 MW class II, G114-2.0 MW class III and the G114-2.5 MW class II), tower heights ranging from 78m to 140m and environmental alternatives designed to enable installation at even the most complex sites.
